After a strong presence at the IFTM trade show in Paris from 17 to 19 September, Tamil Nadu is continuing its commitment to promoting the destination in Europe through roadshows.
The first of these took place on September 24 in Amsterdam, at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Hotel, in front of an audience of professionals and the press. Mr Satya Pinisetty, First Secretary (Economic & Commerce) at the Indian Embassy in The Hague, was also on hand.
Tamil Nadu, nestled along the Bay of Bengal, epitomizes an ancient civilization & enduring legacy. With UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Mamallapuram and the awe-inspiring Great Living Chola Temples, it showcases opulent heritage. The state's vibrant culture thrives through festivals like Pongal and Jallikattu, while its diverse topography, from biosphere reserves to adventure-filled coastlines, beckons nature enthusiasts. Enriched by a spectrum of arts, diverse cuisines, and a treasure trove of handicrafts, Tamil Nadu's allure extends to captivating domestic and international tourists alike. True to its tagline "Where stories never end" it guarantees enduring memories that etch themselves into the hearts of its visitors.
With the aim of attracting the Dutch travelers into the state, Tamil Nadu Tourism hosted an exclusive marketing meet in Amsterdam on 24th September where the state showcased its diverse destinations and products. Moreover, after a gap of around 6 years, the state is also fresh from its participation in IFTM Top Resa event in Paris.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. C Samayamoorthy, IAS - Commissioner of Tourism & MD- TTDC said "The European market has a strong relationship with us as they send maximum tourists to our state. We want to leverage this platform and also attract the lucrative Dutch market. We have direct flights from key European cities and a strong connectivity via the Middle East. So I welcome you to Tamil Nadu…a potpourri of vibrant cultures, exotic destinations and enduring memories; welcome to one of the heartlands of human civilization".
Tamil Nadu is also planning to do more roadshows in the coming months in all the key source markets.
